Arc Flash Assessments

Electrical Safety Services will work with your business to design out the risks inherent in designs that incorporate Arc Flash. We will ensure correct Arc Flash labelling and the correct and appropriate use of Arc Flash PPE.

Thermography Inspection

Using infrared Thermography as a diagnostic tool is a condition monitoring technique that measures the radiant heat pattern emitted from a body, such as building structures or plant and equipment. This technique will generally determine the regions or points of increased or reduced heat emissions, which can indicate the presence of a fault. At Electrical Safety Services we will:

Identify potential equipment or component failure

Prevent fires or explosions

Check component integrity

Determine loading condition of equipment

Identify irregularities in loading

The visual inspection of each switchboard will help determine its condition: ie broken door hinges, excessive heat, build-up of dust or dirt, vermin, unsafe condition or discoloration of components, condition of legend, clear local access area, and much more. Our inspections follow a very detailed and extensive checklist ensuring a thorough review.

Inspection and Testing

If you are a business or employer legislation necessitates that you must make sure that electrical equipment is regularly inspected and tested by a competent person if the electrical equipment.

  • is supplied with electricity through an electrical socket outlet (‘plug in’ equipment), and
  • used in an environment in which its normal use exposes the equipment to operating conditions that are likely to result in damage to the equipment or a reduction in its expected life span, eg conditions such as exposure to moisture, heat, vibration, mechanical damage, corrosive chemicals or dust – which is often simple everyday use.

The frequency of inspection and testing will vary depending on the nature of the workplace and the risks associated with the electrical equipment. This can be as little as every three months. The AS/NZS 3760: 2010 – In service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment, outlines inspection, testing, tagging methods and frequency.

Electrical Safety Services is able to provide competent, reliable and licensed people to carry out these inspections or to fully manage this requirement for your company.
